Love the location on a peninsula off Lake Guntersville! All RV sites looked brand new: packed level gravel motorhome sites with all services conveniently located, paved patio with picnic table, fire ring and barbeque grill at every site. Excellent water pressure, 5G cell service, 25 channels available on the TV. Most sites were pull-through, some were back in, all with generous length for camper and an additional vehicle. Security gates at the entrance and exit, paved drive to the campgrounds. Wish we could have caught a picture of the herds of deer running past our camper! We could hear owls and woodpeckers in adjacent woods. Very peaceful stay - we definitely would come back!

Service is excellent also - we were able to complete our registration online and we were sent a detailed email including the security gate code and detailed driving directions (much needed, since the GPS went bananas and would have had us doing U-turns indefinitely). Our paperwork and dash tag were waiting for us as promised - this was the smoothest check in we have experienced.

The Retreat is located about 7 miles from Guntersville on a winding road, so a vehicle is necessary to get around. It is about an hour from Huntsville, and 45 minutes from Cathedral Caverns State Park (a must see), and there are several other state parks nearby with horseback riding, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, etc. A lot to do!

It appears the owners are still expanding this resort, which also includes glamping cabins to rent. We highly recommend staying at River Ridge Retreat.
